by Augustus Angellier (1848-1911)
The caresses of eyes are the most adorable ;
They bring to mind the limits of being,
And deliver secret otherwise ineffable
In which only the bottom of the heart may occur .
Kisses are the purest crude with them;
Their language is stronger than any words;
Nothing expresses only his immortal things
Passing through moments in our beings frivolous .
When old age has the mouth and smile
Which was slowly filled the fold of sorrows
They still retain their clear affection ;
Made for comfort, drunk and seduce
They have the sweetness, the heat and charms !
And what else has gone through tears caress ?
